MMD uses your computer to the max!

A Classic Post…
LearnMMD’s 3rd Article, August 24, 2011

Why does my computer lock-up when I run MikuMikuDance? How can I other programs while I am running MMD? My computer stops when I open MMD!

MMD uses your computer to the max!

I have noticed that MMD is very active! Check your Windows Task Manager (control/alt/delete) Performance and Processes tabs and see that the CPU is being used 100% by MMD. It is constantly recalculating all of the inbetween frames. Play an animation file and see that the fabrics, and such, bounce differently every time you play it. That’s because there is no hard set of frames until you “Export to AVI”.

If you have other programs running, you may see that the whole computer will be running slowly. My computer is a much upgraded old Compaq “Presario 6000” from about 2002? and Miku Miku Dance maxes out my CPU.

The newsest version of MikuMikuDance has a LOW POWER Button that allows MMD to “idle” without tying-up your CPU. See the newer article about the LOW POW Button.

I have also found that MMD is Mouse Intensive! I am using a wireless mouse and, since installing and running MikuMikuDance, I am going through batteries like crazy! It is worth it, though!
