Download MMD 9.32. It is a 6.5mb download ZIP file. I SAVEd it to my Desktop. When you have it, open that zip folder and click the command “Extract All”. I just agreed to the defaults and found a new folder on my desktop containing MikuMikuDance … ready to run. I dropped the ZIP folder into the MMD folder just to keep it. There is no “installing” MMD. It sits in its folder on your desktop, ready to use. If you decide you don’t want to keep it, just drag the folder into the Recycle Bin … there is no “uninstall”.

——- Getting Error Statements? You are not alone!
The “Configuration Error” is most popular
I have A Solution!
Read the new article about fixing the Failed to start Configuration error …
The “failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect” statement had me confused until I discovered the solution. Read the new article on LearnMMD.com to fix the problem.
The “Missing DLL Error” has Two Versions!
Sometimes a user needs to update his/her DirectX files.
- The first, basic DirectX error states that MMD cannot find DxOpenNI.dll. You need to run the DirectX 9c Updater from the LearnMMD Downloads page.
- The other common DLL error is the “d3dx9_32-dll was not found“. This is more complicated because that file is simply not in your system32 folder. Read all about fixing this MMD missing DLL error here: https://learnmmd.com/http:/learnmmd.com/mmd-error-d3dx9_32-dll-was-not-found/
Go to the LearnMMD Downloads Page to get your MikuMikuDanceE_v926.zip … a 6.5mb download.
I expect the new version, Miku Miku Dance 9.32, will run well and be able to use the mountains of accessories, models, and effects created for MMD 7.39. I am looking forward to learning about “what’s new” in MMD 9.32.

So two things are wrong for me:
1.) MME will not work!
2.) MMD stopped working!
It was working fine before, still with no mme but it was working fine. Then one day it won’t start when I press it. I tried downloading it again, but it still won’t start the application!
Hay why i can’t use the MME effects on 92.6???????
Send me an email. Tell me about your computer and tell me what error messages you get.

I’m using MMD and every time I go to render my video it will stop working, crash, and say something about a Runtime Error than It’ll close my MMD.
Hello! I just downloaded the new MMD version and tried to render a video.. however, when I rendered it all I got was the appropriately timed video with a black screen. The wave file was playing aswell at the right time. Is there a fix to this? I may have been wording this wrongly when looking for a fix on google. A little nudge in the right direction would be great!
Maybe try a different compression scheme… if you choose to use Microsoft Video 1, for instance, or RAW, do you still have the same result?
I used your advice. However, I still got the same result. Typically, I use the UTVideo compression format. I tried Microsoft Video 1, same. RAW Avi, same. I am trying other formats that I never used before… but we will see what happens. I have Windows 10 if that is of any help.
In your installation… have you downloaded the old DirectX 9c and the C++ 2008 and 2010 redistributables as recommended in the boxed area of our Downloads page? They seem to be a requirement. The old DirectX update may get you an error message saying you already have a newer version installed… but go ahead and add that older version; it has some DLLs MMD needs.
Let me know what happens “:o).
I installed the C++’s, and now it renders.- sort of. Now I cannot read Microsoft Video 1 or UTvideo. My computer usually could read these files. The only video it can read is avi RAW, but then it just looks like it recorded the render. I also cannot install DirectX .
This may be your system unable to handle the load from UTvideo,
I have written an article about the codec, it also says a strong PC is reccomended, but like Reggie said install those packages and try again.
Hey I need help when it comes to making videos. I downloaded the latest version of MMD but when I try to get it to record the video it says.
cannot read MMDxShow ->dll there is not MMDxShow -> dll in Data folder
please download the newest ver. of MikuMikuDance
Any advice? I never had this problem before
The short answer is use the Search box on LearnMMD’s upper right page… Search for MMDx
That will show what’s written on our pages about it… This has become a “hot topic” lately… we may find a firm answer… “stay tuned”… check back often and try the search again to see what’s new. See the other comments on those articles…
Mine still says d3dx9_32.dll is missing from your computer. what do I do!
Help Please!!!! I want to open model at mmd than it stuck….Mine is MikuMikuDanceE_v926
I sent you an email… Let’s figure it out!… It may be that in MMD, we do not “open” a model. We LOAD a model from the panel on the lower left of your screen.
oops! i meann LOAD not open….hihi!
nee~answer please?
my pc says its missing d3dx9_42 and i dont know what to do
Try downloading the DirectX update from the LearnMMD Downloads page. That update is old… and you computer may tell you that it already has a more modern version installed … but go for it, anyway… MikuMikuDance needs some of those old files. Also, see the info on our pages about “missing DLLs”.
When I try opening it, it says something about side-by-side configure settings…? I don’t know what to do, pls help!
Please read the other comments/responses to comments. That’s a common problem solved by adding C++ 2008 or 2010 redistributable. https://learnmmd.com/http:/learnmmd.com/fix-mikumikudance-missing-dll-and-side-by-side-configuration/
I have a problem. When I want to open up MMD, I can’t even do it in the first place. no error windows. it just won’t open.
Did you see the “Step-by-Step” page? (Click the button for it at the top of this page.) It tells you how to unzip the folder and start the program. Please email me directly if you’d like personal help: [email protected]
I have that exact same problem! Everything has been installed correctly and yet I cannot open the darn program! Help me please!
I see that Solstice wrote: “I have a problem. When I want to open up MMD, I can’t even do it in the first place. no error windows. it just won’t open.”
— so… you unzip the downloaded folder… open that folder and double-click the MikuMikuDance.exe file… and nothing, at all, happens?… not a blink? … What device are you running? … tablet, desktop, Windows 8 or 10?
I use Windows 7. And I use a laptop.
the only problem is i cant open my old files….. gg
YES ITS WORKING AGAIN! TY SO MUCH! haha i tried what u said and downloaded the old 7.39 version :) ty
it seems that i cant install either 2005 nor 2008 c++… i get some errors. do happen to know why? i tried googling and people said i need to do windows update but that too isnt working for me. i think my system is all messed up… but i could still play any other games fine tho
Try the MMD 7.39 we offer from our downloads page. It is the older version, but it should run for you … and you will have the chance to try out MikuMikuDance. Open MMD 7.39, and then see our Getting Started page to learn how to run it.
yea well its not my first time running it. ive used it before and it was perfectly running. i stopped using it after a while but today i wanted to use it again. it gave me the error. so i thought i need to update it so i downloaded the latest one but that didnt help either… im guessing it has something to do with c++ 2005
Yes … The C++ 2008 seems to be required, too.
so whats the solution for “The application was unable to start correctly (0xc015004).” ?
That’s a new one … I did a Google search for “error message 0xc015004” and found many items. They all seem to relate to an install issue. NOTE that MikuMikuDance does NOT install. You simply unzip the folder and double click the MikuMikuDance.exe to run MMD.
