I have a question about voting. Do the viewers get to vote for who they want to be in the top 5 or do they only vote for 1 entry?
You can vote for as many entries as you like (but only once for each entry).
Voting… Call for Entries closes at midnight (Pacific Time) on September 21st, VOTING starts on the 22nd… special pages will be posted so that you can vote for your favorites.
Can you write the title as VDE 1, or it has to be the complete name; Video Dojo Expo 1?
A complete name is required for Google to find your title.
Correct… We will be searching for “Video Dojo Expo 1″… not VDE
Wow, looks like Learnmmd’s website got updated, it’s running so much quicker and looks so much more well organised. I’m so happy Reggie ^_^
Thank you! … I crashed the Site on Tuesday morning and had to DO something! … Glad you like it!
I like it, too… that dark background and that “masonry” presentation really lets our art “sparkle”!
Mr. Dark… we get about 15,000 visits a week… and YOU are the only reader who has commented on our new “look”… Thank you!
I don’t understand that since the change was so obvious, but speaking of crashes, i was already wondering why my comment of me participating with the Video Dojo Expo 1 didn’t get posted in here. The 【MMD + VIDEO DOJO EXPO 1]】2: \|/ Miku Fantasy – Swan Lake Princess, \|/ of Miku Fantasy is my entry, but that comment seemingly got lost.

Again you did a great job in rebooting the website though, it looks so much better than before.
Well, the CRASH “happened” on Tuesday morning, Aug 20th, at about 8:30 AM Pacific time. I got online and tried to restore a backup from the 19th… without success… tried, again with Sunday’s backup (the 18th)… still without success. I had been trying to update our old WP Theme… and that update crashed the Site. … and some kind of residual elements of that update remained in my WP system, even after the backup/restore… I had to find this new Theme.
SO… if you posted your comment on Sunday night or up until Tuesday noon, Pacific time, it was lost in the Crash… some other time?? … I got no idea where it went.
… That Ballet animation IS prob’ly my favorite of all of the submissions… so creative and original… Nice work! I hope the judges see the creative quality of your animation. … I didn’t know it was yours…
… and yes, I DO like classical music… and Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake ballet, in particular. I have an old 2-disc LP set recorded in Russia in the 1960’s that is a dance-performance version, not the “concert” version… with the difference being that the “dance” version moves pretty quickly… no pausing or tempo changes to enhance the music like there might be in a concert, the version I have was made to dance to and it clicks right along.
I just saw this and it sounds neat! It’ll be a nice project to work on and I’ll let other people know about it too.
Go, man, go! … Thank you! I look forward to seeing your entry.
Only 2 entries so far, ehm.. maybe a money prize would attract more people? Like 100$ first prize, second 40$, third 20$, just throwing some numbers. Or maybe it’s just because we are in a vacation period, dunno. Maybe during a winter contest more people would be at home willing to make something?
I mean like , winning and just getting to write an article here. ehm, well i would throw a bigger piece of meat if you want to attract a crowd, but that’s just my opinion, fine to agree or disagree with it, it’s just how crazy you want to make it i guess.
“Cash” is not what it’s about! No amount of money can be worth the knowledge, skill and effort required to make a competitive MMD video. It’s about the competition… the video… the fun… the “winning your place in the spotlight… getting your links online for all eternity!”… at least as much “a piece of Eternity” as LearnMMD.com can offer.
Hang in there, Darketernal… We are only one-week into it… about six weeks to go…
… I AM glad we caught your attention. Always great to hear from you!
I just searched YouTube for “video dojo expo” and found a THIRD entry…
Just checked… NINE entries, so far… they are trickling in.
OWO That sounds hella interesting!
I’ll try to participate! Just one question.
Does the motion need to be made by the person participating or the person can use any other motion by other people ? :0
Thank you!
For this competition, you can use downloaded motion files created by other MMDers… no problem! … just be sure to credit your sources. I look forward to seeing your entry!
Thank you very much for your answer!~
Well, I was imagining an MMD Video but.. It seems like it doesn’t suit the rules (since in the video there are guns, and such..)~ Rip, I need another idea :’D
Thank you!
“Guns” are probably OK… just keep things in-bounds with what you might see on after-school TV… PG rated. I have seen The Lone Ranger and James T. Kirk use guns on TV… good, clean violence. No blood… no cruelty or suffering.
