LearnMMD’s Downloads Page!
NOTE: “MME V037 in English” is now available from the Downloads page!
MME will open a whole new world for your MMD enjoyment! The zip folder contains instructions in English for installing the MME files. It is easy! You simply drag and drop the three new DLL files into the main MMD folder where you keep mikumikudance.exe … Download Now!
When you download MMEffects from LearnMMD, you get the original files which Reggie Dentmore extracted from the original Japanese MME zip file using the Applocale/7-Zip routine as outlined in the “Scrambled File Names” article so as to preserve the original Unicode structure of the files. (The Japanese webpage source credit for the MMEffects v037 is included in the READ ME file in the download.) He translated the included .TXT files into English using the Notepad++/Google Translate routine discussed in LearnMMD’s “Translating Japanese Files” article. Those files are saved in both .TXT and Microsoft Word .DOC format (97-2003 compatibility). The Word files are much easier to read.

HOW TO TURN ON THE PROGRAM?
I’ve done exactly what the tutorial says, but the ‘MMEffect’ button never appears. I’m wondering what I could be doing wrong? I moved the three dl files into the same folder as MMD, I’m not really sure what else to try.
Make sure you have DirectX 9.0c installed.
i tried to download mme but once i download mmd Miku miku dance will not open what should i do
Top Two (and a fraction) Probable Reasons Your MMD Doesn’t Run
Does it matter if MikuMikuDance was in a different folder?
Cuz I once put MMD In a folder where i keep My editors/ sprite makers/ recorders etc. (Things like Scratch offline editor, that offline editor that lets you create pixelated sprites, video editors, UTAU, Audicity and MikuMikuDance)
So anyways i moved the .dll files to that folder and when i opened MMD i didn’t find the MME tab..
I tried to move MMD to its original default folder and re-downloaded MME and moved the .dll files to the default folder, opened MMD and still didn’t find the MME tab (note that i have both MME and MMD latest version and both are 64 bit on Windows 10)
Then i decided to RE-DOWNLOAD BOTH MMD AND MME AgAiN so that mmd naturally occurs in the default folder, then i moved the .dll files from MME to the mmd folder AND FINALLY it worked.
So does it ONLY work with the default folder? And WHY does it not work to have MMD in a different folder THEN placing it back to its default folder? Is it because of my crappy windows 10?? lol (but at least i DO have MME i just wanna know about the folder placement thing and why it didn’t work in a different folder/ when i put it back to the default one,, i wanna know so that next time i can install MME easily on different devices!)
Honestly, I don’t know the “Whys” you asked about. I’ve got no answers. … but the result is just right… you download MMD, extract that folder. You download MME and extract that folder and then drop those 3 DLLs into the MMD folder. … and… it worked for you; THAT’s the important part.
it doesn`t work !!! HELP T n T
a message appears saying : ( Initialize Error : failed to load default effect file. please check video card capability )
Strangely enough, my computer is strong and it is for games and I have downloaded all the supplies, but it still does not work
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease helllllllp
When did you GET that error… what were you doing? … You drop the three DLL files into the same folder as the MMD.exe… and you should have MME. At no time in that process do you get an error statement… until, maybe, you tried to use an effect… ?
What version of MME has the AL_EmitterRT, VertexPosRT, and VertexPOS_MaskRT tabs in the Effect Mapping Window. I running 64 bit versions of MMD-931 and MME-037 but all I get is the Main tab. Are these tabs on an older version or is there an issue with my install? Thank you!
By default, MME only has one Main tab. Other tabs appear as a result of loading certain effects. Specifically, AL_EmitterRT is part of AutoLuminous, and two others you mentioned are most probably from Beamman’s SelfBurning.
I don’t think this got posted correctly last time, but I seem to have a weird issue when setting up MME with MMD 9.31. Instead of enabling MME functionality, d3d9.dll appears to stop MMD from running altogether. I tried this with a fresh download of MME. MMD works fine on its own – it’s just MME that’s strange. I’ve tried both MME versions. Neither work.
I think your MME differs from your MMD.
You have to make sure both are the same bit type.
For example, you have a 32 bit MMD then you have to download the 32 bit MME.
And I think you’ll need the latest MMD
Hi,and sorry for bad english.I download the latest version of mmd and mme and i have a problem with them. When i load effects like autoluminous or object luminou,or nhcl shader it doesnt work and a red square appears where the effect should be,the effect also does not appear in a separate tab in mme
.Please help me :(
Do you have all the necessary software installed?
Yes i have,i think is a problem of windows 10 because in other vesrions never happen nothing like this. All effects work in windows 8,7 but in 10 i have this problem.
Indeed, Windows 10 may require much more shamanic dances around it before it agrees to cooperate, but eventually it can be cowed (or so some of LearnMMD visitors report; I do not use it myself). All right, let’s start with screenshots of your C:\Windows\System32 folder, MMD folder, and Programs&Features. It’s not that I don’t trust your competence, but there always may be some small details missed in conversation. Never rely on testimonies about something you can verify for yourself, and all that.
No problem, but i dont understand so well, you want to see all folder
or just some specifics pastes? Have many files in this folder.Do you think it could be a problem caused by the direct x version?
What I want to know is basically the same as in the text linked above: is there DirectX properly installed, are there *all* necessary C++ libraries, and what DLLs are placed in the MMD folder. And also what your video card is.
And yes, whenever the culprit isn’t clear, the DirectX is usually the prime suspect.
I’m thinking of uninstalling my current version of direct x which is the 12 and download the 9 which is the “default” of mmd. I’ll draw a print from the CC + that I have.

My video card is a gtx 750
Thanks for the help.
Well, your chart of C++ libraries looks good. You don’t actually have to uninstall the DirectX 12 you have. The offline installation pack that our Downloads or Troubleshooting pages refer to should install just fine even with the higher version present.
well I think I’m just unlucky, repairing well I realized that some effects work and others do not. Most of the effects I apply directly to the model work without much of a problem like the greener shader that I quite like, while others that load in accessory manipulation like the Difusion make a red square on the ground and do not work. Thank you so much for trying to help.
Do those other effects have Japanese letters in their file names? If so, try to rename their .x and .fx files, making sure their first names stay matching to each other.
Some friends help me too and they said some effects do not work very well with 64 bits which is my system version and mmd, changing the windows version can help in your opinion?
I never had problems with 64-bit version not playing some effects. Still, you can try to download the 32-bit version of MMD *and* MME (as long as their versions match each other, they should work well with 64-bit Windows) and see if you get better results.
Hello, I just went on to say that after all this time, the problem was simple, I had a folder with all the effects in it, so I put an effect that was out of this folder and the red square did not appear, so I tried with another effect out of this folder and again the effect worked and the red square did not appear. I hope this helps other people. Thank you for your help.
This version only uses .emm files (No one can’t specify what it even is or what it’s for) But if you download a previous version of MMEffect, it should accept the .fx/.x files as usual~
1) .emm files are generated by MMD as a supplement to .pmm files and have nothing to do with MME.
2) I have v037 myself and it works exactly like the previous version.
Describe the process you use to supposedly open .fx files. Apparently you’re doing something that is not “it”.
the effects “.x” doesn’t work
what i do??? :c
What you do is, apparently, something wrong. As long as you don’t tell *what* you do, nobody can tell you more.
It doesnt seem to work on me when i tried followin the instruction… :(
it doesn`t work
“doesn’t work” … tell me what doesn’t work… what happens… ?
