Hatsune Miku was created to be the mascot, the voice and the face, of the Sony/Sega/Yamaha Vocaloid software that was released in 2007. She was designed to be a 16-year-old vocal android… a Vocaloid. The graphic designer who created the look of the character, Kei, created a beautiful young lady with lots of attitude and high style.

Hatsune Miku, codenamed CV01, was the first Japanese VOCALOID to be both developed and distributed by Crypton Future Media, Inc.. She was initially released in August 2007 for the VOCALOID2 engine and was the first member of the Character Vocal Series. She was the seventh VOCALOID overall, as well as the second VOCALOID2 vocal released to be released for the engine. Her voice is provided by the Japanese voice actress Saki Fujita. Critics have discussed the fact that Meiko was actually the first character created for the Vocaloid product. True, before Miku arrived on the scene, the software had included images of Meiko printed on a card so as to somewhat humanize the digital product they had created. But the Release of Vocaloid in 2007 was a total restructure of the software’s marketing program and Meiko was out and Miku was in!

happy late anniversary miku! i discovered her when i was ~12, so around her 13th anniversary. im now 15, about to be 16 soon! cant wait to go to miku expo 2024 ^_^
Have fun at the Miku Expo. I have seen her show “live” twice in the Los Angeles venue: the Microsoft Theater. FUN but REALLY LOUD, I mean LOUD… so take your hearing protection! I have a hearing protection headset that you can buy in the chain-saw section of Home Depot or any hardware store… It sounds crazy, I know, but you will be glad you have it!
